Laboratory Rotan

In the X-ray Laboratory Rotan the structures of polycrystalline, nanocrystalline or amorphous materials as well as single crystals of the large variety of materials are characterised. The major part of the physical properties of materials, which are interesting and attractive for application, are structure sensitive. In this way the structure characterization is the key procedure for searching for correlation between the material growth process and its structure and for finding the correlations between structure and material properties. Consequently we cooperate with almost all departments of our institute in many projects.

The laboratory is equipped both by X-ray generators with rotating anode (Laboratory Rotan itself) and conventional sources.
